“Peace”

Isaiah 40:28-31

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. (v29) He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. (v30) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, (v31) but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Every time I read this scripture, I thank God. You see, there was a time in my life that my heart was broken in pieces and I had no peace. The situation made my heart ache and a cloud of sadness was upon me. I remember being at work and on a call with my Mom, who was trying to encourage me and I remember saying, “Mom, I just need to go pray.” I hung up the phone, grabbed my bible and went into an empty office. Sat down and open the bible and it fell open to this scripture. When I read verse 28, that did it. As I continue to read there came a peace. A peace I cannot explain. God reminded me of who He is and of His power. I needed to give the situation to Him, instead of trying to fix it myself. As I read it today, I wish I had written down the exact date and time it occurred, but that doesn’t matter. For the feeling I had back then when I first read it, is the same feeling I have today. PEACE!

I don’t know who this is for, but I pray you receive Gods’ peace which surpasses all understanding. He gives power when you’re weak, and when you have no might to fight, He gives you strength. Wait on the LORD.

Love,

Delphine
